Español 1 is divided into four units.
In my classes, this unit will last from August to
October.
In this unit students will learn about:
1. How to introduce one another.
2. How to greet one another and say goodbye.
3. How to identify yourself and others.
4. Talk about time.
Grammar for this unit will focus on:
1. The Spanish Alphabet
2. Introductions
3. Nouns and Articles
4. Numbers 0 – 30
5. Subject pronouns and the present tense of the
verb “ser”.
6. Telling time
In my classes, this unit will last from October to
December.
In this unit students will learn about:
1. How to talk about classes and schedules at
school.
2. How to ask questions in Spanish.
3. How to describe where someone of something
is located.
Grammar for this unit will focus on:
1. Learning how to conjugate AR verbs in the
present tense.
2. Learning how to questions in Spanish.
3. Learn how to use the verb “estar”.
4. Numbers greater than 30.
In my classes, this unit will last from January to
March.
In this unit students will learn about:
1. How to talk about and describe family
members.
2. How to identify family members.
3. Discuss people’s professions.
4. Talk about possessions.
Grammar for this unit will focus on:
1. Using descriptive adjectives.
2. Using possessive adjectives.
3. Conjugating ER & IR verbs in the present tense.
4. The verbs Tener and Venir.
In my classes, this unit will last from March to May.
In this unit students will learn about:
1. How to talk about sports.
2. How to talk about where people are going.
3. Discuss places in the city.
Grammar for this unit will focus on:
1. The verb “Ir”
2. Stem changing verbs (I > IE) and (O > UE).
3. Stem changing verbs (E > I)
4. The verbs Tener and Venir.
5. Verbs with irregular yo forms.
