Overview
The Spanish Alphabet is very similar to the English alphabet. In this section we will explore these similarities and differences.
Completing this course will help you:
- Learn additional letters that are in the Spanish alphabet
- Pronounce the letters correctly in Spanish.
Learning Path )
In this activity, you will be practicing the Spanish alphabet by repeating the letters after the speaker, then pronouncing the words that the speaker says.
(Open the audio and then come back to this page and follow along with the picture below that goes with the audio.)
Use the A / B charts below with a partner to practice spelling words.
You will choose either the A sheet or the B sheet and your partner will choose the opposite sheet. To choose a sheet, hover your mouse over it to flip it over. Your partner will write the words that you spell (letter by letter) on a piece of paper. You will then switch jobs and your partner will read his/her words to you (letter by letter) which you will then write down on your paper.
On Schoology, record yourself spelling out your first and last name using the Spanish alphabet. Make sure that you pronounce the letters correctly in Spanish. Hold a paper with your name typed out or written neatly on it. I have a video here to look at as an example.
In Spanish, many words require accent marks to be correct and we need to be able to make the Ñ letter in Spanish. Click here and watch the video and follow the instructions to set up your keyboard to be able to do this.
