Overview

In Spanish 1 you learned that both ser and estar both mean “to be”.  They are not interchangeable though and each required to be used in specific instances.  In this module we will discuss this further and you will learn to use them at the appropriate times.

¿Ser o Estar?  Indicate whether each adjective takes ser or estar.  ¡Ojo!  Three of them can take both verbs.  For the three that can be both, mark both.

  5.  seguro
  6.  enojada
  7.  importante
  8.  avergonzada

Form complete sentences by using the correct form of ser or estar and making any other necessary changes.
